Both men were injured in the fight and sought treatment at different hospitals.

The new boyfriend sustained several stab wounds and was listed in stable condition. He provided police with his account of the incident.

Police learned Guzman left the hospital where he was treated and returned to his ex-girlfriend's home.

When police arrived at the house, Guzman refused to come out. They did not know if anyone else was inside with him and called SWAT officers to help contain the scene.

SWAT officers determined that Guzman was alone and was not in danger from his injury. SWAT was released from the scene and the Pearland Police Department took over.

Guzman surrendered to officers around 7:30 a.m., walking out with his hands in the air.

Guzman, who is 24 years old, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
