HOUSTON - Authorities said they have arrested a man who escaped from a Harris County Precinct 4 deputy over the weekend.
Christopher James Caldwell has been charged with escaping while under arrest or in custody and burglary.
According to court documents, on Feb. 9, several deputy constables arrested Caldwell in the 8300 block of Timber Wilde Drive.
He was placed into custody on a felony burglary warrant, detectives said said.
While a deputy constable was placing Caldwell into a patrol car, Caldwell managed to get away and ran away, deputy constable said.
The deputy constable chased Caldwell on foot, deputies said. Caldwell was able to run 40 to 50 feet before the deputy constable was able to catch him, officials said.
Caldwell is being treated for his injuries at Ben Taub Hospital under police guard.
He's being held without bond.
