Actor Jim Parsons is making the University of Houston, which he attended before hitting it big in Hollywood, proud again.
The Houstonian won the best comedy series actor award for the fourth time Monday night for his work on "The Big Bang Theory."
His acceptance speech included a touching thank you to his late father.
"He encouraged me to be an actor and a career that hinges so much on confidence. That was a really great gift so I thank him and thank all of you," said Parsons.
Parsons' win puts him in company with all-time sitcom winners Carroll O'Connor, Kelsey Grammer and Michael J. Fox.
Seth Meyers did give Parsons a ribbing for his recent contract negotiations that netted him a million dollars per episode.
