BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – A mother and father are accused in the death of their infant earlier this month in Brazoria County.
Brian Michael Hampson is charged with injury to a child. Gisela Hampson, the mother of the baby, is charged with abandoning or endangering a child.

Brazoria County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call June 2 about an unresponsive baby at a residence in the 19000 block of Amoco Drive South in Alvin. Emergency crews tried to resuscitate the 2-month-old boy, Josef Hampson, but he was pronounced dead early the next morning.
Deputies said Josef had bruising to his face, from his forehead to his cheek, and suffered a fractured skull.
An autopsy discovered that the infant had suffered blunt force head trauma.
Court documents state Brian Sampson said he fell asleep on the couch while caring for his three children -- Josef, a 3-year-old daughter and a 19-month-old son -- while his wife was at work. He said he awoke to the sound of Josef crying in his swing, and he told investigators that he noticed the baby had a small amount of blood under his nose, a scratch and a bruise on his forehead.
He said he cleaned the blood off and put Josef back in the swing to sleep.
According to court records, Gisela Hampson said she came home from work to find Josef cold and not breathing, court records state.
She told police that she and her husband smoked pot on the day of Josef's death and that Brian Hampson was drinking that day before she left for work.
Gisela Hampson told investigators that her second child tested positive for methamphetamines after his birth, according to court documents. She admitted to police that she and her husband smoked meth, and their two children were placed into Child Protective Services custody for about a year until they both had completed counseling.
Court documents state she also admitted that she and her husband smoke marijuana daily and that they started smoking meth again before and after Josef was born. She told investigators she stopped using meth about a month before Josef was born and started using again about two weeks after his birth.
Brian Hampson, 37, is being held on $750,000 bond. Deputies said he was convicted in Florida in 2001 on aggravated child abuse charges. In that case, the 2-month-old baby had bruising to her head, which investigators determined was due to multiple strikes to the face.
Gisela Hampson, a 28-year-old Swiss national, is being held on $350,000 bond.
