Package thief caught on camera stealing children's Christmas gifts

PEARLAND, Texas – A Pearland mother is furious after a surveillance camera captured a woman stealing packages that contained her children’s Christmas gifts from her porch.

Tammie Walker and her husband spent hours on Amazon trying to pick out the perfect toys for their 1-year-old and 3-year-old. “We actually had the kids sit down and circle things they would like to put on their Christmas lists,” Walker said.

On Thursday, she received notification the packages had arrived, but when she returned from work to her house in Shadow Creek Ranch, they were not on the front porch.

When Walker checked out her doorbell surveillance camera, she saw a woman dressed in a pink fleece go up to the front door and look to see if anyone was inside. The woman then kicked both packages and asked a person who was waiting out front in a car whether she was clear to bring the packages out.

“We work hard for our money and try to provide a decent living for our kids and to have someone come to our house, steal our packages and violate us, it just really infuriates me,” Walker said.

She said Amazon will be able to reship some of the toys, but not all of them. The worst part about it is some of the toys she ordered for her kids are now sold out. “Those gifts were purchased for my children out of love and just out of me wanting to do something special for our kids and to have someone just come steal them is really sad,” Walker said.

Walker said some of her neighbor’s packages were also stolen this week. If you have any information about the package thief, call the Pearland Police Department.
