Package containing item worth $40,000 stolen from doorstep

HOUSTON – A family in north Harris County said two thieves stole packages off their doorstep and one of the stolen items is worth $40,000 and it's not a holiday item.

The family did not want to be identified out of fear that the thieves would return.

They said two men stole medical equipment that one of the victim's employers sent to her.

"It's a bad feeling," one victim said. "Luckily, their intentions were not to try to come in."

Surveillance cameras at the family's home caught two men wearing hoodies, walking up to their home and taking several packages, among them the medical equipment, and then taking off running.

It appears as though the two men drove away in a dark blue Chevy Impala.

The family said they followed the UPS truck and stole the packages seconds after the truck drove away.

"I feel violated," one victim said.

If you recognize the men in the surveillance video, the family asks that you call the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
