One dead, two injured in drive-by party shooting

No motive for the shooting

HOUSTON – A man is dead and two others, including a teenager, were injured in a drive-by party shooting in northwest Houston, according to Houston police.

Police said there was a large party of around 60 people at a home on Nyoka and Okanella around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Officials said a vehicle, possibly a cream-colored, four-door Toyota or Honda, pulled up to the parking lot and a person in the back seat opened fired at the crowd.

Witnesses said the suspect fired the gun at least eight times.

Three men were hit in the gun fire. Two were taken to the hospital by paramedics.

One of the men, later identified as 24-year-old Wayland Clark, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.

The others was transported to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. 

Investigators do not have a motive for the shooting and have made no arrests.
