HOUSTON -

Two men are dead after a southwest Houston apartment complex shooting.

Police said the two men were killed in an apparent robbery around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Both men, ages 31 and 40, had apparently just returned from work, and were standing in the parking lot at the time of the shooting.

Investigators said one of the victims died at the scene. The other victim was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he later died.

At least half of the complex, located on Renwick and Bellaire, and the nearby roads were blocked while police investigated.

Detectives said the gunman ran away fro the scene and was gone before police arrived.
