1950: Actor Jeff Conaway, best known for playing Kenickie in the movie musical "Grease" and Bobby Wheeler in the sitcom "Taxi," is born in New York City. He died on May 27, 2011, at age 60 due to complications related to pneumonia and the degenerative brain condition known as encephalopathy, attributable to long-term drug use.
