Officials: Walker County wildfire contained

More than 500 acres burned

WALKER COUNTY, Texas – A wildfire in Walker County that scorched more than 500 acres has been contained.

Officials said no injuries have been reported, and the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

According to the Walker County Office of Emergency Management, voluntary evacuations were recommended for structures from the north side of Bo Brown Road to the Houston County line and from the Houston County line to Weldon on Tuesday afternoon. Those evacuations were lifted on Wednesday.
