HOUSTON – A suspect in a purse snatching led officers on a chase, investigators said.
League City police said a woman's purse was taken in the parking lot of a CVS store in the 2700 block of West Main on Monday afternoon.
A volunteer firefighter saw the thief leave the parking lot, officials said. He called police and followed the car, giving officers updates about the suspect's location.
Police caught up with the vehicle and chased the suspect into Houston.
The chase ended along Interstate 45 near Woodridge, where the suspect, Frankie Smith, 30, was arrested. He faces a robbery charge, investigators said.
