Officer opens fire on man at HCC campus in Midtown

HOUSTON – An officer opened fire on a male suspect who allegedly tried to run him down in a parking lot on the Houston Community College campus in Midtown.

According to Houston police, an HCC police officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between a male student and a female student in an on-campus parking lot near Austin and Alabama.

HCC told us when the male suspect was approached, he tried to run over two HCC officers while fleeing.

At least one of the officers fired at least one shot at the suspect, but did not strike the suspect.

The suspect stopped the vehicle and was arrested. He has not been identified yet.

HCC says no message was sent to students because the incident was under control so quickly.
