GALVESTON, Texas – Deputies said they have new leads in the death of a woman whose body was found on a Galveston County beach nearly two years ago, KPRC Local 2 reported Monday.
Bridgette Gearen, 28, was found dead at Crystal Beach in July 2007. Galveston County sheriff's deputies said she had been sexually assaulted and strangled to death. Her body was found a few hundred yards from the cabin where she was staying.

Veteran homicide investigators said Gearen's death was one of the most horrific cases they could remember.
Investigators said information they received has led them to several men who do not live in the Galveston area, but who were at Crystal Beach at the time of Gearen's death.
