Nearly 10 million Americans suffer from osteoporosis, and now a new drug may be about to change the way it's treated.
It doesn't have a formal name yet but when injected daily, it reduces fractures and increases bone density in patients.
The drug appears to reverse the affects of osteoporosis by stimulating cells to create new bone.
"The ability to improve bone quality is a new concept and that's what this agent does," Dr. Paul Miller with Centura Health Physician Group says.
