The Needville community continues to mourn two students who were killed in a tragic crash.
Laurenzo Lopez makes a daily trip to the intersection of FM 762 and Cummings Road in Fort Bend County. This has been a daily ritual since his son, Alejandro, died at the intersection on Friday night.
"Crying every day. We don't see it yet. We cannot see it. It happened Friday. I'm here right now looking for him," said Lopez."
Seventeen-year-old Alejandro Lopez and 20-year-old Wuilmer Alexis Rodriguez were killed as a gravel truck collided with their vehicle.
Flowers sit at the intersection and paint marks the accident scene.
Lopez and Rodriguez were seniors at Needville High School.
Lopez said his son earned his diploma.
"He is going to receive his graduation certificate,
said Lopez. "We talked with the principal over there. He's not any problem. My son, he was real good."
Needville ISD's superintendent said grief counselors were available at the school Monday as part of the district's crisis plan.
Troopers said a third passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Renee Mauricio Martinez, remains hospitalized in stable condition.
The driver of the gravel truck was not hurt in the crash.
DPS said there is nothing to indicate the possibility of charges.
