Running of the Chihuahuas draws dozens of cute dogs

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. –  Chihuahuas may be the smallest dogs in the world, but they're also very cute when they run.

That's why dozens of people took their dogs to the ninth annual "Running of the Chihuahuas."

The competition started with 12 dogs in the parking lot of a radio station, now the event has grown to 150 contestants at First Tennessee Pavilion.

On Saturday, the little dogs were lined up for the chance to win a blue ribbon.

If you own a Chihuahua, you know they usually do what they want, so half of them ran, the other half just wandered around and begged to be picked up.

Dog owners say it’s not only fun to dress up their dogs for the event but also to meet other people who have Chihuahuas.
