Spilled drink leads to school bus rollover crash

DEMOTTE, Ind. – A woman trying to grab a spilled drink caused a rollover crash Saturday in Indiana.

State police said the driver side-swiped the bus just after noon on I-65, causing it to go off the road and flip over.

The bus was carrying the Griffith High School basketball team to a state semifinal game in Lafayette. All 27 passengers -- 21 students and six adults -- were taken to nearby hospitals.

The school district said everyone but an adult coach were released Saturday. He's in stable condition.

The crash backed up traffic for 10 miles. All lanes were reopened about four hours later.

The Indiana High School Athletic Association said a makeup date will be announced for that state semifinal game.
