A woman who was arrested after a deadly 3-vehicle crash on Houston's south side faced a judge late Sunday night.
Blisha Puga, 35, appeared in probable cause court around 11 p.m.
Local 2 was there as she was told she would be charged with intoxicated manslaughter with a motor vehicle.
According to documents read in court, Puga told police she had been drinking before she got behind the wheel.
After the wreck, she was sent to Southeast Memorial Hospital where blood tests confirmed she was over the legal limit.
Police said Puga was driving when she plowed into a car on the Gulf Freeway near Broadway Street.
They said one person in that car died. The identity of the female victim, 49, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to tow truck drivers at the scene, the wreck started after a dark-colored Chevy Cobalt with two occupants stopped in the moving inbound lane of Interstate 45.
They said the two people inside the car were passed out when a white car and the car Puga was in hit them.
Witnesses said the driver of that Cobalt drove away from the scene.
Police said they are still searching for the Cobalt, which likely has major rear-end damage.
