HOUSTON -

Houston police are searching for multiple suspects who robbed a jewelry store.

The robbery happened at the India Jewelry store on the Southwest Freeway and Hillcroft at around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Houston police say three to four armed masked men robbed the store and fled in a vehicle.

According to police, the men waited for a customer to go inside and then followed behind.

At some point, the men broke the front window and several display cases.

Police say, after stealing jewelry the the men ran out the back then into a white minivan. That getaway vehicle was later found at a Wells Fargo Bank in the 6100 block of Savoy Drive.

Police found a hammer inside the van.

Detectives told Local 2, they don't think this was the first time these thieves have done this.
