HOUSTON – One person is dead after, police said, he was hit by a motorcyclist along the southwest freeway.
The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. Saturday on Highway 59 near Kirby.

Investigators said the victim was trying to cross the freeway when he was hit. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in serious, but stable condition.
Emergency crews shut down all southbound lanes while they worked to clear the accident.
No names have been released.
