Motorcyclist dies after flipping over freeway wall in downtown Houston

HOUSTON – A 40-year-old man was killed Friday in a motorcycle crash at 1800 Eastex Freeway around 4:20 a.m. Friday in downtown Houston.

According to police, the motorcyclist failed to maintain a single lane, was ejected over the retaining wall and landed on the road at Hamilton and Pierce.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identification is pending verification by officials.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck, police said.

It is unclear what caused the crash.

Houston police are continuing their investigation.
