A motorcycle rider was in critical condition after a violent wreck Sunday night.

Investigators said the crash happened around 9 p.m. as a pickup truck, which was headed north on Highway 6, tried to turn left into the entrance of an apartment complex.

The driver turned in front of the motorcycle rider, who was reportedly speeding southbound on Highway 6.

The rider then slammed into the back end of the pickup truck. The impact of the crash tore the back bumper from the truck.

A Life Flight helicopter was called to the scene, and emergency responders rushed the rider to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

No one in the pickup truck was hurt in the crash.
