HOUSTON -

A motorcyclist is dead after a series of car accidents in southwest Houston.

It happened Saturday around 10:15 p.m. near the intersection of South Gessner Road and Beechnut Street.

According to the Houston Police Department, the motorcyclist attempted to switch lanes at the last minute.

He drove to the middle lane as a Chrysler Sebring was driving in that lane.

The Chrysler then hit the motorcycle, pushing it into a minivan.

The motorcycle driver was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

The female driver of the Chrysler was tested for alcohol consumption and was not intoxicated.

Two occupants in the minivan where taken to the hospital in stable condition.

  No charges are expected.
