Motorcycle, car enthusiasts deliver Christmas cheer

HOUSTON – Across the city Christmas Day, motorcycle and car enthusiasts alike pitched in to give children the best Christmas they could.

At Memorial City Mall, several west Houston motorcycle clubs teamed up with Arrow Child & Family Ministry to host the inaugural West Houston Two Wheel Toy Run.

Bikers raised money and collected toys to distribute to foster kids in need.

On the east side of town, the Latin Fantasy Lowrider Car Club held its 24th annual Jugetes Para El Barrio event, where members drove through neighborhoods honking their horns and handing out toys to every kid they could find.

"Shorty" Sotero Villarreal of the Latin Fantasy Lowrider Car Club helped organize the event.

"We're just blowing our horns and sirens, getting the kids to come out and handing them their toys and goodie bags," he said.

The two events came about as a result of a group of friends coming together and deciding that they wanted to do something to make a difference.
