A Houston mother was arrested after police say she led officers on a chase with her child in her car.
Houston police said officers were called to the 6700 block of Westbranch just before 7 p.m. Monday for a disturbance. They wanted to speak to Jacqueline Brigette Bardales, 25, about a case of alleged trespassing.
According to Houston police, Bardales was sitting in a car, and an officer asked her to exit to the vehicle; but she refused. When a second officer arrived, Bardales allegedly continued to refuse to get out of the car. Officers said her one-year-old child was in the back seat the entire time.
According to police, the toddler's father then appeared on the scene and got aggressive with the officers.
Officers said while they were dealing with the father, Bardales drove off, hitting several vehicles in the process.
The officers followed Bardales. They said during the chase she ran a red light at Bellaire and S. Dairy Ashford. She eventually stopped in the 12600 block of Beechnut.
Bardales was arrested and detained on felony charges of evading arrest with a motor vehicle and endangering a child.
The child was not injured.
