HOUSTON -

It's a strike at a local bowling alley, but not the good kind. And one popular burrito place is make a repeat appearance.

It was more than just the lanes that were slippery at Lucky Strike Lanes at the Houston Pavilions on San Jacinto in downtown Houston. Inspectors asked employees to clean the ice machine to get rid of the black residue and minimize the presence of gnats.

When we stopped by Cafe Adobe off the Katy Freeway and Silber, we wanted to talk about the rodent feces inspectors say they found on top of a dishwasher, but a manager told Local 2 Consumer Expert Amy Davis he wasn't there the day of the inspection.

"But you would have heard about rodent feces, right?" Davis asked him.

"No, never see that in here," he replied.

A representative of Cafe Adobe later emailed this statement: "Cafe Adobe strives for the highest standards of cleanliness.  During a routine Health Department inspection May 21, some issues were brought to our attention, including a burnt-out wire in our dishwashing machine.  All issues were corrected within an hour or less and re-inspected and approved by the same inspector.  While the dishwasher was out of service, all dishes were washed by hand per approved Health Department procedures.  Pest control was called to ensure that rodents cannot get into our facility.  Construction in an undeveloped area near our restaurant is likely the reason for this one incident as that can chase rodents out of the field where they live.  Café Adobe did not receive a citation from the Health Department."

Inspectors condemned 10 pounds of potentially hazardous food that was off temperature at the Corner Bakery Cafe on the Southwest Freeway near Kirby.

Bullritos on Weslayan at Richmond is back. We told you last July inspectors found off temperature food on two different visits. This time, it was salsa and chicken that were too warm. Inspectors say there was also pink slime in the ice machine.

At Fung's Kitchen at 7320 Southwest Freeway, it was the duck and noodles that were too warm and potentially hazardous.

We've got A+ ratings this week for Chipotle at 11805 Westheimer near South Kirkwood and Luby's at 13451 Northwest Freeway at West Tidwell. Both restaurants had spotless inspections.
