HOUSTON -

If your New Year's resolution has anything to do with saving money or staying on a budget, we're here to help.

With the holiday decorations put away and the kids are already getting bored with their new toys, what do you do now?

Here are some options:

Head to Katy with the kids on Saturday for the NFL Play 60 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Central Green at La Centerra at Cinco Ranch. All kids get a free dry-fit Play 60 T-shirt. The free community event encourages outdoor activity for kids. Click here for more information.

Make wearable art at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft at 4848 Main Street for Hands-on Houston this Saturday. Kids can twist plastic-colored wire to make bracelets between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. All materials are free.

iTunes is still in the giving spirit. Download the "12 Days of Gifts" app to get a free gift every day through Monday. Today's present is four free Kings of Leon songs.

Take the kids to the next free Lego mini model build where they can make and take a mini snowplow. The event is at Lego stores in the Galleria, Baybrook Mall and The Woodlands Mall beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday until supplies last. It's open to kids ages 6 to 14 years old.

Tuesday, January 7 is the next free day at the Houston Zoo. Everyone gets in free after 2 p.m. If you miss it this time, the Zoo has free admission the first Tuesday of every month.
