HOUSTON -

Mother's Day is Sunday and if you don't already have weekend plans, we've got some ideas for giving mom a break from cooking and giving your wallet a break too.

Start your weekend with a wacky, sometimes tacky, but always fun Houston tradition of the 27th annual Art Car Parade. The parade starts at 2p.m., but the free festivities begin at 10 a.m. at Taft and Allen Parkway.

Catch one of four outdoor movies Saturday night. "Back to the Future" is playing at Discovery Green. The original "King Kong" is showing at Central Green Park in Katy. "Planes" the movie is on the screen at Sugar Land Town Square. And "Enchanted" is playing on a giant inflatable screen in downtown Tomball.

On Saturday and Sunday, moms and grandmother's get in free to Bayou Bend on Memorial Drive and Wescott where moms will also get a free gift from The Shop at Bayou Bend.

Our partners at Houston on the Cheap have more details on these events and more free happenings.

Take your mom to Starbucks Sunday and when you buy a Teavana Oprah Chai Tea Latte, hers will be free.

At Boston Market your mom's meal is free when you buy yours.

At Snapfish you can download free printable cards, banners and breakfast in bed menus for mom.
