A mom found unconscious in her vehicle with a window rolled down and her young daughter shivering in the back seat was taken into custody and is facing charges.
Sarah Chastity Bledsoe is charged with endangering a child. Court documents state on Dec. 6 a Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constable observed a parked vehicle at a public park. The car was not running and the driver's side window was down. The deputy constable says Bledsoe was initially unresponsive and that her 4-year-old daughter was in the back seat.
According to court documents, the girl was wearing a thin long-sleeved shirt with wet pants and was shaking uncontrollably due to the mid-30 degree temperature. The deputy constable moved the child to the patrol car to help warm her.
The deputy constable said the car battery was dead. According to paramedics, an empty bottle of prescription pills was observed and Bledsoe was showing signs of intoxication.
Both Bledsoe and her daughter were transported to the hospital.
Then on Tuesday, Bledsoe checked out of one hospital and when deputy constables tried to arrest her they say she attempted to check herself into another hospital to delay her arrest. She was arrested before she could check herself in.
Bledsoe, 29, is being held on $2,000 bond.
