After nearly 12 hours of searching for 11-year-old Cameron Jeng, he was found safe at a neighbor’s house.
The Walker Elementary student told his mother that after playing outside Thursday afternoon, he locked himself out of the house and decided to go to a friend’s house. That’s where he fell asleep and spent the night.
“He didn't bother to call, but I am glad his home alive and safe,” said Cameron’s mother, Natalie Locke.
During that time, family and Harris County sheriff’s deputies searched the Highland Creek Ranch subdivision near Highway 529 in northwest Harris County.
Theresa Ballesteros lives in the neighborhood. She went door to door and actually found Cameron at his friend’s house.
“Apparently he didn't know people were looking for him,” said Ballesteros.
Cameron's mother said she will talk with her son to make sure he understands that he can’t leave the home and not tell her where he’s going.
