HOUSTON - A METRO police officer was injured after crashing into another vehicle near downtown Houston.
It happened around 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of Hamilton and Grey.
Houston police said the METRO officer was driving on Hamilton when another vehicle ran a red light. The officer tried to swerve, but crashed into the vehicle.
Officials said the officer was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
No word yet on any charges in this incident. Police say their investigation is ongoing.
