METRO driver robbed at bus stop in SW Houston

HOUSTON – A METRO driver was robbed while he was taking a break at a bus stop in southwest Houston near West Oaks Mall, according to police.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday on Richmond Avenue and Caseta.

Investigators said a man came from the mall parking lot and yelled at the bus driver to give him his cellphone. He then attacked the driver.

The man took the cellphone from the driver and ran off.

The driver was treated by paramedics for a laceration to the face.

It's not known if the robber took money from the bus driver.
