Men hospitalized after shootout over tractor

HOUSTON – Two men got into a shootout during an argument over a tractor, detectives said.

Brazoria County sheriff's deputies said Jonathan Luntz, 42, and William Moore, 51, started arguing in the 3000 black of County Road 245 in Brazoria about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said one man pulled out a revolver, the other pulled out a semiautomatic weapon and shots were exchanged.

"Being New Year's and everything, we thought it was just fireworks," neighbor Angela Davenport said.

Davenport said she saw dozens of deputies rush to the neighborhood.

Both men were wounded and were taken by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

Detectives said Moore is the father of Luntz's girlfriend.

"I'm very concerned – with our kids, it easily could have came this way," Davenport said.

Investigators said Moore and Luntz are both considered to be victims and suspects. Officials have not said what charged they may face.
