Houston police officers were forced to dodge bullets after an early morning chase.

Officers tried to pull over an SUV around 12:30 a.m. Friday, but the driver refused to stop.

Houston police chased the car for about a mile before the SUV stopped near the intersection of Pitner Road and Roma Street.

Two men inside the car got out and started running.

One of the men pulled a gun and fired shots at the officers. The officers were not hit.

The two suspects ran through an apartment complex and got away.

Houston police said they recovered two guns behind a dumpster in that apartment complex.
