Men charged in theft at jewelry store inside grocery store

HOUSTON – Two men have been accused of stealing jewelry from a store inside a grocery store.

Jody Evans, 36, and Undrake Clark, 39, have been charged with theft.

Houston police said the men went into a jewelry store inside the Food Town on the Sam Houston Parkway near Veterans Memorial on Aug. 12 and took $49,000 worth of merchandise.

The men stole 72 diamond gold rings, 108 gold rings, six diamond trio gold sets, 40 baby gold bracelets and 35 adult gold bracelets, investigators said.

The incident was captured on surveillance video, investigators said.

The men are being held in the Harris County Jail without bond.

Evans and Clark both have previous convictions on robbery and drug charges.
