Two men tied to eight burglaries of vehicles in Galveston were arrested.

Gustavo Aybar and Rudy Servantes are charged with unlawful possession of a firearm on Saturday in Galveston, according to police.

Police received eight reports of vehicle burglaries along the Seawall ranging from 23rd to 89th streets.

Officers were able to identify the vehicle used in the burglaries after reviewing video from a local hotel.

Police then broadcast the description of the vehicle to other units in the field and an officer spotted the vehicle and stopped it for a traffic violation.

The officers say they saw several purses in the car and were given permission to search the car.

The officers found several iPads, computers, game systems, cash and firearms, which officers say, were reported stolen.

Both men are in jail with bonds set at $80,000 each.

Detectives are working for possible further charges.
