CONROE, Texas - Two teenagers broke into an elderly woman's home, stole her van and led a private citizen on a chase, investigators said.
Montgomery County sheriff's deputies said the teens broke into a home on Millmac Drive in the east Conroe area early Thursday.
The elderly homeowner was asleep when the teens broke in, but she woke up while they were stealing items from her home, officials said.
Investigators said the teens told the woman to stay quiet and not get up.
The teens left the home in the woman's van, deputies said.
Another homeowner on Dougett Road, which is near the burglarized home, said he found the van in his driveway when he got home, investigators said.
The homeowner saw the teens leave in the van and he followed them, deputies said. The homeowner crashed into the back of the van at the intersection of Dougett and Jeffcote and the teens ran away, investigators said.
Deputies have not released detailed descriptions of the teens.
Anyone with information is asked to call Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at 800-392-TIPS.
