THE WOODLANDS, Texas – A man pepper-sprayed employees of a high-end jewelry store during a robbery on Wednesday, investigators said.
Montgomery County sheriff's deputies said the Tiffany's in Market Street in The Woodlands was held up about 4:25 p.m.
Investigators said the man looked at several rings and was being assisted by a staff member when he pulled an assault rifle out of a bag.
The man took several pieces of jewelry and pepper-sprayed the employees before he ran out the door, detectives said.
The man was described as black with a dark complexion, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 175 to 180 pounds with long, wavy hair that was pulled back. He had effeminate mannerisms, investigators said. He was last seen wearing a light purple T-shirt, dark jeans, a sweater or sweatshirt tied around his waist and a baseball cap.
Detectives said the man may be the same man who was armed and pepper-sprayed employees during a robbery at a Citibank branch in nearby Shenandoah on Sept. 24.
