The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is investigating a gas station robbery.
Authorities say it happened at about 1:30 a.m. Friday at the Valley Ranch Texaco store in the 25510 block of Highway 59 in Porter.
Two men came in the store, and one of them was showing a handgun according to police. Investigators say the man with the weapon told the clerks to stick their hands up. Officials say one of the clerks hesitated and the man fired a shot toward the back of the store and demanded cash.
A clerk went behind the counter and put an unspecified amount of money in a bag and handed it to the armed man, according to Montgomery County sheriffs. The second man allegedly stole merchandise during this time. Authorities say the men fled on foot.
The men are described as Hispanic and were wearing shorts and T-shirts and what looked like T-shirts over their faces.
