MCSO: Armed man pepper-sprays jewelry store employees

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – A man pepper-sprayed employees of a high-end jewelry store on Wednesday, detectives said.

Investigators said a man armed with a gun walked into the Tiffany & Co. at Market Street in The Woodlands about 4:20 p.m. and sprayed everyone inside.

Paramedics were sent to the store to treat those affected. Officials have not said how many people were sprayed.

Sources told KPRC Local 2 that the man didn't get away with any merchandise.

Shoppers and employees at some nearby stores said they were placed on lockdown while investigators search for the man. Detectives said he may have had a getaway driver.

Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies finished their work at the store by 9:00 Wednesday night.

"We just went in and sat down and the doors were locked," said Jakque Everson. She was having dinner across the street. She told Local 2, "We could see everything that was going on. There were six or eight police cars. 3 or 4 mounted police and an ambulance.
