HOUSTON -

Two men are recovering at a local hospital after police said they were ambushed outside of a convenience store in north Houston.

Houston police officers responded to a shooting in the 4900 block of the North Freeway at Glenburnie just before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

"The shooting took place around 9:50 p.m.," said Lt. Larry Crowson with the Houston Police Department. "When we arrived we found two men shot, one was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the arm."

Police collected evidence and interviewed witnesses.

"Robbery was not a motive," said Lt. Crowson. "The two men approached the victims and started shooting."

The suspects were wearing masks.

The two victims were taken to Ben Taub General Hospital. They are expected to survive.
