HOUSTON – A thief who prefers flat-screen televisions has made sport out of stealing them from a Sears in northwest Houston.
On three recent occasions, store surveillance cameras at the 4000 N. Shepherd store caught the man walking in, then leaving a few minutes later carrying a large TV.
Police say the man made no attempt to pay for the televisions worth about $2,000.
"This guy is very bold," said Frank Heenan, Senior Investigative First Responder with the Houston Police Department.
Heenan noted that each of the three thefts was committed in broad daylight on April 10, April 11, and most recently on May 1.
"He's got tattoos on the back of his neck and the back of his arms," Heenan said.
Some of the tattoos can be seen in the surveillance video.
Heenan described the man as about 6 feet and 180 pounds.
Little is known about the female accomplice who appears in the surveillance video of the May 1th crime. Both are seen leaving in what appears to be a Dodge pick-up truck.
"The video is real good. Someone is going to recognize them," Heenan said.
