HOUSTON - Investigators are looking for a man suspected of breaking into a northwest Houston home Tuesday morning and attempting to sexually assault a woman.
Houston police responded to the home in the 7000 block of Green Lawn around 10 a.m. after a report of a home invasion.
The victim is a 30-year-old health care provider, investigators said. She was at the home helping care for two disabled children who live with their grandmother.
"She was taking care of one of them upstairs when she was approached," Officer Jeff Brieden said. "She was forced to leave (the child) to deal with the suspect and trying to divert the attention away from the child for his safety."
Police said that the attacker forced the woman to hand over her cellphone. He tried to sexually assault the woman and got spooked when the phone started ringing, investigators said.
According to police, the suspect may have changed clothes since the incident, but he was last seen wearing a white tank top.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
