Conroe and Shenandoah police are searching for a man wanted for robbing two hotels Thursday night.
Authorities said the La Quinta Inn located in the 28600 block of the North Freeway in Shenandoah was robbed around 9 p.m. Thursday. About an hour later, police said the Comfort Inn located in the 1100 block of League Line Road in Conroe was robbed.
Authorities said the suspect walked into each hotel, showed a gun and demanded money from the clerk at the front desk. After receiving cash, the suspect ran away.
"I want this guy caught. There's a lot of hotels in this corridor on 45. We know that they present appetizing targets for would-be thieves," said Shenandoah Police Assistant Chief Bryan Carlisle.
He said the robber was only inside the business for about 90 seconds.
"One of our immediate protocols in any event like this and let these hotels know this is something that has happened. Here's what we know right now. Here's what the suspect looks like," said Asst. Chief Carlisle.
Police believe the suspect is in his mid 20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build. Surveillance video from both hotels shows the suspect has a mustache and was wearing a white jacket with a Fila logo on the front and back.
A spokesperson for La Quinta said it is working closely with police trying to catch the robber.
Anyone with information about this wanted suspect should call Sgt. Stowe with the Conroe Police Department at 936-522-3224 or Sgt. Shaw with Shenandoah Police Department at 281-367-8952.
