Man stole gun by stuffing it down his pants, police say

Woman also sought in connection with theft

HEDWIG VILLAGE, Texas – Police said they are looking for a man and woman who worked together to steal a gun from a sporting goods store in Hedwig Village earlier this month.

The theft happened July 3 at the store in the 8900 block of Katy Freeway.

According to a press release from Crime Stoppers of Houston, the man and woman walked to the gun counter of the store and began looking at guns in the showcase. The man then signaled to the woman to distract the cashier. While the employee was occupied, the man used a key to open the showcase and stuffed a blue steel Colt Python handgun down his pants. The pair then left the store.

Police described the man as 50 to 60 years old with light brown skin and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a blue, long-sleeve shirt, a tan-colored cap and dark-colored jeans with patches on the legs.

The woman was described as 40 to 45 years old, about 5 feet 4 inches tall and 140 pounds, with light skin and black hair. She was last seen wearing a white, long-sleeve shirt and black pants.

Police said the pair was last seen driving a black Nissan Murano.

Anyone with information about the crime was asked to a call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477. A reward of $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
