Man stabs one person and cuts another, claims self defense

HOUSTON – The Harris County District Attorney's Office said a man who stabbed another person Sunday morning likely would not face charges.

Investigators said both men were standing with a group in the front yard of a home on Cobalt Street near Danford Lane.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday, an argument started, and one of the men pulled out a knife. He stabbed one person and slashed another man's wrist.

The man who was stabbed had to be taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in serious, but stable condition.

Officers took the man who had wielded the knife into custody.

According to investigators, he claimed that he only pulled out the knife to defend himself.
