Police said the roads were wet from the heavy rain, which caused the man to lose control of the SUV. Police said he spun out of control into oncoming traffic and collided with a Mazda that contained four passengers.

The impact of the crash caused the Mazda to slam into a red Dodge SUV, officers said.

The driver of the of the Dodge and all four passengers in the Mazda were transported to the hospital.

Two of the four victims in the Mazda -- a 7-year-old boy and 25-year-old woman -- were both pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the white SUV was not hurt and stayed at the scene, police said. He did not show any signs of intoxication, but voluntarily took a blood test.
