HOUSTON -

A man was sent to the hospital Friday night after a pair of armed robbers shot him twice.

Police said the robbers walked up to a vehicle in the parking lot of a southwest Houston apartment complex on Gasmer Drive at Ricecrest Street.

Investigators said the men pointed guns at the two men sitting in the car and told them not to get out before demanding cash.

One of the victims stepped out of the car, and police said that's when one of the men shot him twice in the abdomen.

Investigators estimated that seven shots were fired during the robbery.

The robbers then drove off in a dark-colored, two-door vehicle.
