Detectives search for driver spotted leaving the scene

HOUSTON – Houston police homicide detectives said they are searching for the gunman in a deadly shooting in north Houston.

Around 1:20 a.m. Monday morning, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of a dry cleaning business in the 700 block of West Mount Houston near I-45. When officials arrived, they found a 50-year-old man dead in his white Toyota Tundra.

According to reports, the driver's side window was halfway rolled down, and there were two bullet holes in the passenger-side window. Detectives said someone fired two shots outside the truck, hitting the victim in the head.

So far, a motive for the shooting has not been established, but officers said there may be surveillance footage from cameras in the area.

Police also said witnesses reported seeing a blue Monte Carlo leaving the scene immediately after the shooting.
