Man shot to death in N Houston convenience store parking lot

HOUSTON – Houston Police hope surveillance video will help them identify the man who shot and killed a man in the parking lot of a convenience store on the north side Friday evening, investigators said.

Investigators said the shooting occurred around 6 p.m. at Quick Shop Convenience Store, located at the 700 block of Glenburnie Drive, near the south bound lane of the North Freeway Feeder.

Details about what led to the shooting are unknown, according to homicide detectives, who told KPRC2 that the two men were seen arguing in the parking lot before shots were fired.

While there were customers inside the store, it was unclear Friday whether anyone witnessed the actual shooting outside.

One man said he heard as many as 10 gunshots.

Another man said he was inside the store at the time of the shooting and ran outside to help, but the victim was unresponsive.

"It's crazy. It's too close to us. Especially with a six month old at home. That's all I think about now," a neighbor said.

Investigators said they plan to review surveillance video in hopes of learning more.

The victim, a man, has not been identified. His age was not released.
